QUANTUM PARK RYNIE CRICKET CLUB (QPRCC) OUTGUN P G SCOTTBURGH C.C

On the 17/10/2010 Quantum Park Rynie CC played P.G Scottburgh C. C at the Sezela Cricket Oval. P. G Scottburgh had won their previous two league encounters this season and was going into this match beaming with confidence. Their hopes of a third victory were dashed as they fell to a strong Quantum Park Rynie Cricket Club (QPRCC) opposition .

For Park Rynie this was their first game of the season. It was a very damp and cloudy Sunday morning when the clubs arrived at the ground; both clubs were eager to get the game underway but were faced with a wet pitch due to overnight rain. The match had to be shortened to a 25 over game. P G had won the toss and put QPRCC into bat. Park Rynie were despondent after loosing the toss but decided to go and get the job done. Batting proved to be hard going as the ball stuck to the pitch. Park Rynie lost their first wicket in the 6th over with their score on 22 and they were 35/3 in the 9th over. Park Rynie were staring defeat in the face when Prineshen Pillay (Boya) and Ryan Alexander Naidoo arrived at the crease. These two youngsters went on to post a 50 run partnership & guide Park Rynie to a modest 102 runs for 8 wickets in their 25 overs. Park Rynie knew that with their bowling attack they stood a very good chance. P.G Scottburgh never felt comfortable against the Park Rynie bowlers, they were constantly loosing wickets. They were 18/2 in the 5th over, 36/5 in the 10 and were eventually bowled out for a paltry 76 runs. Prineshen Pillay (Boya) led QPRCC bowling attack form the front claiming his first 5 wicket hall for the season. He finished on figures of 5 overs for 12 runs whilst bagging 5 wickets. Clinton Moodley and Shaun Marimuthu also claimed two wickets a piece while Jadin Nobin claimed the last wicket of the innings. Ryan Alexander Naidoo scored the highest with the Bat, he made 23 runs.

Park Rynie proved to good for P G Scottburgh on the day. The MAN OF THE MATCH AWARD went to Prineshen Pillay for his splendid 5/12/5wickets and his 15 runs he scored with the bat.
