‘Cricket for Cancer’

Congratulations and well done to Old Boys Cricket Club for an excellent fundraising event put together for a very worthy cause, raising R13 500.00 for Hospice. On behalf of the Executive of Umzinto & Districts Cricket Union I must state that it makes us proud to be leading a union that has an affiliate like your club. You have demonstrated that one can go beyond just playing cricket, by bringing together your players, spouses, children and supporters to make a contribution to the social upliftment of our community.

Members of our executive had a wonderful time and were pleased to be part of this fundraising activity. We hope that this could become an annual event and that other clubs could also commit themselves to making our community and the world a better and more comfortable place for all humankind, especially for those that are ill, the aged, the poor and the weak.

Thanks to the clubs that attended and assisted, although I must state that it was disappointing that more of our affiliates could not support this very noble initiative.
